our garden

well here is our very first garden together! i have to say we become prideful of our garden. since this is our first attempt, we have learned a lot and are already anticipating next years garden! we've met some great farmer friends that have given us a lot of organic plants to start with, making the process a lot easier.
our garden contains: red leaf and butter crunch lettuce, habnero peppers, tollie sweet peppers, a variety of herbs, peas, green stripe and heirloom tomatoes, watermellons, cucumbers, white ghostbuster eggplant, yellow squash, broccoli and onions. a few things that didn't make it.... RIP carrots and arugala.

one hot husband, cutting back the tomatoes

one small broccoli head, one bigggg plant

the amazing basil

one heirloom tomato that is literally as big as my hand

farmer bill

lettuce still growing and some herbs

and last but not least, our homeade composter! we bought a large rubbermade and drilled holes into it. we have really cut down on how much trash we throw away due to how much we are able to put in our composter. we've also periodically put in worms. they help compost the materials quickly and they produce amazing fertilizer for your garden! i found some helpful information at www.howtocompost.org

  1. Hmmm, fascinating. I must comment on your Blog based on your self description. I find it rather intriguing that you are able to articulate this dichotomous interpretation of who you are with a mind and dare I say spirit/soul living in such contradiction. I will follow along to see if seeing your life look back at you via this thing called a Blog brings clarity to your world.
PS Garden looks great, what, a week away from some ripe tomatoes?
